Meet the Maker - Geelong Weaving Mill

Geelong Weaving Mill

The Geelong Weaving Mill is situated in the heart of one of Australia’s historic wool and textile regions, housed at the original site of the Geelong Returned Sailors and Soldiers Woollen and Worsted Cooperative Manufacturing Company, established in 1920. And we at Jade and May are proud to share this building and work alongside such a talented group of Geelong Creatives.

Using repurposed yarns from their commercial production, the Geelong Weaving Mill products are dyed, woven and finished right here in Geelong, the gateway to Victoria’s finest surf coast encompassing pristine national parks, exemplary produce and also a member of the UNESCO Creative City Network as a City of Design and are dedicated in ensuring they offer not only a beautiful product, but something that you will take pride in, and love, for a lifetime.

The Geelong Weaving Mill works closely with their partners ensuring best practices in sustainability, quality and production whilst enabling them to trace their supply and production chain.

Purchase a Geelong Weaving Mill product and you'll be supporting local manufacturing and the small teams of creatives behind the manufacturing, but sustaining important skill retention of proud and historic traditions in fibre craft and weaving.

We know you'll love your Geelong Weaving Mill blankets - they have quickly become a Geelong staple (all year round!) and the word seems to be spreading further across the country so if they are in stock, grab one when you can as they do sell out between productions.
