A delicate little ruffle bowl from Kim Wallace Ceramics, handmade in Noosa and full of the quiet character that defines beautiful Australian ceramics.

Each piece begins with Australian clay, carefully shaped by hand in the Kim Wallace studio. The soft ruffled edge is formed entirely by hand rather than moulded, giving every bowl its own gentle movement and individuality. No two pieces are exactly the same, which is part of the charm of handmade Kim Wallace Ceramics.

The bowl is finished with a hand-brushed, non-toxic and food-safe glaze, while the base is left unglazed and polished smooth after firing. This creates a vitrified, stone-like surface underneath with a tactile feel that reflects the natural beauty of Australian ceramics.

The small size makes these bowls wonderfully versatile around the home. Use them for condiments or sauces, a small amuse-bouche when entertaining, or style them beside the sink to hold jewellery or a favourite candle. Many people enjoy mixing and matching glaze colours, or layering them with the Kim Wallace Ceramics scalloped and ruffle plates to create a softly textured, artful table setting.

Because each ruffle edge is shaped by hand, the bowls do not stack perfectly. The edges vary slightly from piece to piece, which is part of the handmade nature of these Kim Wallace Ceramics pieces.
