This painting is rich in colour and intention. In Victoria magnolias come into bloom late Winter to early Spring. To me they promise of further warmth, new growth and energy in the environment. These flowers are significant in many cultures, but for me as winter feels like it will never end these noble flowers appear as bright beacons of hope of what’s to come, the light and warmth that follows the darkness.
