The Perfect Iced Chocolate, Made at Home

The Perfect Iced Chocolate, Made at Home

This is the iced chocolate you make when the day feels long, the sun is loud, and you want something sweet but not silly-sweet. Rich, nostalgic and quietly luxurious, it's the kind of drink that turns an ordinary afternoon into a small ritual worth slowing down for.

Made with quality chocolate, cold milk and plenty of ice, every sip is smooth, creamy and deeply satisfying without feeling over the top. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you're feeling indulgent, or keep it simple and let the chocolate do the talking.

Best enjoyed barefoot in the kitchen, in a sunny patch on the verandah, or with a good book after a swim. It's a reminder that some of life's best moments are the simplest ones

You’ll need

2 tbsp Grounded Pleasures Original Drinking Chocolate
1 tbsp boiling water
2 scoops vanilla ice-cream
300ml milk of your choice (full cream, oat, almond - they all work just as well as each other)

How to make it

In a small bowl or cup, mix the Grounded Pleasures drinking chocolate with the boiling water until it becomes a smooth, glossy paste. No lumps, no rush.

Spoon about half of this chocolate mix into a tall glass, gently tilting it so it drips down the sides. This is the fun part.

Add two generous scoops of vanilla ice-cream, then slowly pour over your milk of choice. Finish by drizzling the remaining chocolate over the top.

Grab a spoon. Sip. Repeat.
Drink immediately while it’s perfectly melty and just right.

Makes one iced chocolate for a 470ml glass.

Optional add-ons (highly encouraged)

  • tiny pinch of sea salt for depth
  • splash of cold brew coffee for an iced mocha moment
  • swap vanilla ice-cream for coconut or hazelnut
  • a dusting of cocoa or chocolate shavings on top if you’re feeling host-level effort
