Giancarlino Benedetti Corso 'The Street is His Studio' Exhibit
Giancarlino Benedetti Corcos
Born in Rome in 1954, Giancarlino Benedetti Corcos has spent more than twenty years painting from the same street in the heart of the city. Rather than working behind closed doors, he hangs his canvas on a wall with nails and paints among the people, welcoming the conversations, curiosity and energy of passers-by. As Giancarlino says, "The street is my studio."
His expressive paintings are layered with colour, texture and emotion, sitting between abstraction and figuration. Influenced by the history and rhythm of Rome, each work invites the viewer to discover their own story within it.
This collection brings a small piece of that Roman street to Geelong, celebrating an artist whose practice reminds us that art belongs in everyday life as much as it does in galleries.
