Jua Nifty Knit Planter or Storage Basket - African Basket & Homewares

Celebrate traditional craftsmanship with these African baskets, handwoven by members of the Kamba tribe in Kenya. Each kiondo basket is made using sustainable sisal and yarn repurposed from second-hand woolly jumpers, creating a unique blend of colour and texture.

Originally woven by mothers as wedding gifts for their daughters, these baskets take extraordinary skill and up to six days to complete. Kiondo weaving, once a diminishing craft, has been revived by a growing cooperative of skilled Kenyan women.

Sold as an assorted mix of designs and colours, these versatile baskets make beautiful homewares for storage, décor, or gifting. Each handmade basket reflects a rich cultural heritage and sustainable production practices.
