What is a European Pillowcase?
A European pillowcase (or Euro pillowcase) is basically the big square cousin of your regular pillowcase.
While your standard pillow is rectangular (think 48x73cm-ish), a European pillow is a square- usually 65x65cm. So naturally, the pillowcase for it is also square and is a standard size that can be purchased at anywhere you can buy a pillow insert
What’s it for?
- Styling your bed: European pillows are mainly decorative. They sit at the back of your bed stack, creating height and making your bed look like it belongs in a boutique hotel (minus the mini shampoo bottles you’ll never use)
- Support: They're also super handy for reading in bed, watching Netflix, meditating or feeding a baby
- Comfort: Some people use them as a sleep pillow too, but that’s more of a personal preference thing
A European pillowcase = a 65x65cm square pillow cover, usually used to dress up your bed or add extra comfort. If the rectangle pillow is the understudy, the European is the star of the show when it comes to bedroom style
