March Guest Artist: Tegan Crosbie
March Guest Artist: Tegan Crosbie
We are lucky to welcome painter and collage artist, Tegan Crosbie to the Jade and May Art Wall. Tegan, a Ballarat artist draws upon her deep connections to Torquay and the Surf Coast.
Tegan's latest collection, aptly titled 'Beach House', captures the essence of the 1970s with its bold and lively colors and patterns, evoking a sense of nostalgia and carefree spirit. She uses sections of original retro wallpaper overlaid with acrylic painting to create mixed media collage work.
With a keen eye for detail and a profound appreciation for the natural world, Tegan uses the beauty of the small treasures she’s found in rockpools on the Torquay foreshore and other pockets along the Surf Coast for inspiration, using finds such as fragile fronds of seaweed and organic shapes of sea glass to create her collection.
Her work reflects a unique and personal perspective, inviting audiences to experience the beauty and energy of the Surf Coast through her artistic lens.
Tegan Crosbie is owner of The Workshoppery, a studio and retail space located at Barkly Square, Ballarat. From here she runs art classes and craft workshops. She is also co-founder of a community arts project ‘Fontella the Zine Machine’, a vending machine that showcases and distributes zines by artists from across Regional Victoria
