How to Care for Your Linen PJs So They Last Forever (Almost)
Investing in a quality linen pj set is worth every.single.cent! And whilst a set of linen pyjamas are pretty low maintenance (which is just the way we like it!) we do have a couple of tips for you to ensure they look.. and feel good, for years to come
Washing Tips for Linen PJ's:
- Wash Less Frequently: Linen is naturally antibacterial which means you can get an extra night or two out of your linen PJ set than anything in a blended fabric before they need a wash - good for you, your to-do list and the planet
- Gentle Cycle: Use cold water and a mild detergent (we love the Koala Eco laundry wash) Avoid bleach, which can not only weaken the fibres in the linen, it's also not so great for the planet. Marks from linen will generally wash out easier than a manmade fibre but if you do have a stain on your linen pjs or loungewear, wash and then lay the garment out flat in the sun and let the sun do all the work
- Separate Colors: Wash light and dark separately to prevent bleeding and keep them fresh and bright
Drying Advice:
-
Air Dry: Shake them out (to avoid wrinkles for those who are allergic to the iron), then hang to dry. Our linen pj's are hand-dyed in Bali using a water cold water fibre reactive dye, so if using a dryer, opt for a low delicate heat setting to prevent gradual fading over time
Storage Suggestions:
-
Fold, Don't Hang: To maintain shape, fold your PJs neatly. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
Linen PJs are an investment in your downtime. Treat them right, and you'll be wearing them for a very long time
